Italian-Saudi Investment Forum

Now firmly among the most dynamic players in the entire Middle East, Saudi Arabia - through a competitive and innovative National Investment Strategy (NIS) aimed at putting into practice the 'Vision 2030' launched in 2016 - is making great efforts to diversify and modernise its economy, which in recent decades has been mainly linked to the production and export of oil products.

Investments in various strategic sectors, from manufacturing to defence, are at the heart of Vision 2030 and offer opportunities for private sector expansion in all provinces. The NIS is a direct initiative of HRH Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Council for Economic and Development Affairs, to make the Kingdom a sustainable and world-class investment destination. 

Moreover, ties with Italy, historically important, have accelerated significantly in the last two years, bringing the trade well over EUR 11 billion in 2022: not only due to the increase in imports of raw materials from Riyadh, but also thanks to a considerable increase in exports of Italian products to the Kingdom (+23% compared to 2021). In this context, there are numerous investment opportunities for the Italian business community to seize, at a time of great dynamism and change in the international scenario.

The Forum

Promoted by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy and the Saudi Ministry of Investment, in collaboration with The European House - Ambrosetti, the Forum aims to give visibility to the contents of the National Investment Strategy, serving as a platform for both countries to explore and capitalise on investment opportunities in key sectors. Enriched by the presentation of the results of a proprietary study on the Saudi zero-carbon strategy, the programme will bring together prominent business leaders, government officials and investors to discuss and present potential collaborations in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, tourism, technology, and finance.
