The last electronic poll of the 33rd edition of “The Outlook for the Economy and Finance” was focused on the Italian agenda.
Most of the participants look with moderate optimism at the future prospects of Italy.
The audience is split between those who believe that the National Resilience and Recovery Plan (NRRP) should be amended due to the new economic framework and international events, and those who would like it to proceed as planned.
Apart from the response to the war in Ukraine, the country’s priorities in 2022 should be, in order:
- Redesigning the country’s governance, starting with the electoral law that has always led to ungovernability (tie)
- Making Public Administration more efficient and digital (tie)
- Completion of public works and infrastructures
- Civil justice reform
- Green economy (tie)
- Cashless economy, digitalization and strengthening the fight against tax evasion (tie)
- Tax reform
- Broadband and 5G
Finally, most respondents have positive feedbacks on the government’s actions in the context of the ongoing international crisis, although a third believes it could do more.
